These handspun yarns are created by using one ply of Angora and one ply of Merino sheep wool. Merino is a very soft wool that nicely compliments the softness of Angora. The advantage to using a ply of each is that Merino is a wool with 'memory', or elasticity, while Angora is not. When combining the two, you get a wonderful yarn with the best of both worlds: Stretch and Fluff! All dyeing and painting of yarn is completely hand done.
The unique two-toned look is achieved by the degree that each fiber takes up dye. The Merino wool tends to pick it up more readily so it is usually the darker of the two.
